The art of lockdown : Australian Ukrainians making art 2020
2021
Book
"The 2020 AFUO cultural connectivity program for the Australian Ukrainian community -- using Facebook as a platform, The Art of Lockdown, A Virtual Visual Art Exhibition grew quickly -- with members from around Australia sharing everything from fine art, cultural arts to chalk drawings and cupcakes -- projects that got people through 2020 and helped them stay connected with community while in lockdown. And maintain positivity and good mental health. While some told us they couldn't produce art as they were so down with the challenges of the lockdowns. But gained positivity and community connection by being a part of the group and seeing their friend's art, and in some cases, re-connecting with long lost and distant friends. The Arts program on January 1 was relaunched as The Art of Transformation -- taking the group on a positive journey as Australia looked like to be managing the covid pandemic. This group has continued to grow -- now internationally -- as many remain in lockdown and cope with the challenges of the pandemic."--Andrew Duma, ozeukes.com.
