Cercere, the goddess of the messengers, is tormented by a recurring dream that her daughter, Proserpina disappears.Very soon the goddess discovers that it is a premonition; Proserpina is in fact kidnapped by the god of hell, who takes her with him to the afterlife. Giving over to the anger and pain, the goddess interrupts his good work on earth: the fields dry up, the seed no longer sprout and a terrible famine starts.
