This will take you on a journey of the country's biggest sporting code, from its origins in 1858 right through to the present day, in more than 300 pages of stunning images. This glossy, coffee-table style publication brings together the most complete collection of images ever published on the game, some of which have not previously been seen by the sporting public. The photographs have been sourced from all over Australia - from the AFL, SANFL, WAFL and other state leagues; private collections of historians, past players, players' families and the sports-loving public; professional photographers; News Limited, other media outlets and libraries; and individual clubs at all levels. Images are categorised into chapters, covering all aspects of the game, including legends, characters, coaches, fans, the inner sanctum and, of course, spectacular marks. The foreword will be written by AFL legend and Richmond great Kevin Bartlett.
