Eros: The Nude Through the Ages

2009 - 2015
Work
As art progressed through the ages, depictions of the human form became the ultimate representation of art. Always controversial, the nude figure has been both criticized and glorified. Narrated by Claire Dodin, this engaging program displays the evolution of the nude in painting as it progresses century to century from the Renaissance art of the 15th Century, when early nudes revolutionized art, to the early 20th century; it features thirty six artists, including Sandro Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Peter Paul Rubens, Jacques-Louis David, William Bouguereau and John William Waterhouse. Synchronized with a romantic soundtrack, the art of "Eros" is brought to life in stunning, compelling detail, as the primal elemental form of the human body is captured by master painters who reflected the essence of love, beauty, and eroticism during their times.
