First Nations Voices

Welcome to our First Nations Voices page, find brilliant reads by First Nations storytellers

The City of Melbourne Library’s First Nations Collection celebrates the depth and diversity of Indigenous knowledge, culture, and storytelling. We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which our libraries stand, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We honour their unbroken cultural, spiritual and political connection to Country, and recognise them as the first storytellers of narrm. As a public library, we are committed to being a culturally safe and welcoming space, and to supporting truth-telling through the collection, ensuring First Nations voices, perspectives and knowledge systems are centred, respected, and made visible.
