    Your loans will be automatically extended for another 3 weeks, providing:

    - no one else has reserved the item, and 

    - it is not the fourth the item is being renewed

    If you have exceptional circumstances and cannot return your loans on time,

    please contact us during opening hours on 1800 695 427

  • How do I renew my loans?

    1. Go to : https://librarysearch.melbourne.vic.gov.au/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/MSGTRN/wPAC/HOME

    2. Use your library card number and password to log into your account

    3. Click your name in the top right

    4. Select “current loans” from the drop-down menu

    6. Tick the items you want to renew > Click "renew all" or "renew selections"

  • Expired memberships / Account issues
  • Renew expired membership

    To renew your membership, please follow the instructions below :

    1. Go to : https://librarysearch.melbourne.vic.gov.au/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/MSGTRN/wPAC/HOME

    2. Use your library card number and password to log into your account

    3. Click your name in the top right

    4. Select “personal details” from the drop-down menu

    5. Update your address and any other contact details

    6. Scroll to the bottom of the page > Tick the "renew your membership" box (if it appears)

    7. Type your password and then click "Update"

  • "Unknown error occurred" message

    This error may occur where there is an ampersand "&" or special characters in your password

    Please try resetting your password, making sure to use letters and numbers in your new password

    Then try to login to renew your membership

    If this fails, please contact us to reset your password

  • Email validation

    Upon joining, you will have received an address confirmation email from City of Melbourne Libraries

    Please hit the "confirm" button in that email to validate your email address

    If you have not received that email, please contact us

  • Online only memberships
  • My membership expired because I didn't enter/receive the verification code

    If you have not validated your "online only" membership using the verification code sent to you in the mail and :

    - it is more than 3 months since joining, we will need to resign your account

    - it is less than 3 months since joining, we may be able to resend the validation code

    Please contact us to resolve this issue

  • Authentication errors
  • Check membership number and password/PIN

    Please check that you are using the correct library card number and password

    Sometimes the passwords/usernames saved by your device can be incorrect

    Please make sure to clear any saved fields and manually enter your credentials

    If you have forgotten your password/PIN, you can reset it using the following link :
