When an architect discovers in his bath the dead body of a middle-aged stranger, wearing nothing but a pair of gold pince-nez, gentleman sleuth Lord Peter Wimsey is urged to investigate. Inspector Sugg is certain the corpse is that of the missing financier Sir Reuben Levy. Lord Peter is certain it is not. But there is undoubtedly a connection - for it seems someone wants them to THINK the dead man is Levy. Why would anyone construct such a grotesque tableau? Where is Levy now - alive or dead? And whose body WAS it in the bath?
