Alejandro, a teenager from Ecuador, spends a year studying at a high school in California. At first everything feels perfect: he stays with a wonderful host family and quickly becomes close friends with Marcela from Mexico and Fernanda from Costa Rica. But before long, unexpected challenges arise, and Alejandro must navigate cultural differences, personal conflicts, and the realities of living far from home.
